  1. These quotes seem to be the Jews saying he's claiming to be God. It's been a few years since I read it so forgive me but I recall him saying repeatedly he was the son of Man. I read the NIV a few years back and I found many contradictions in the various Gospels. For me Jesus seemed to be a pretty great man but I doubt that he had the ability to suspend Newtonian physics, or that he was the son of God any more than you or I are. Remember that these books were written slightly over a hundred years after his death by people who weren't alive during his life. You and I couldn't keep a story consistent over one year's telling, it's the nature of human memory, imagine that this story was TOLD over and over and no doubt embellished with every real telling like the proverbial fish tales told today. (pun intended) There's no way that things went down exactly the way they did in the New Testament. The Bible is a book that should be used to teach morality not what it has been used to do like start wars and spread hatred and fear. I believe that there is a Creator who made the universe and that he was maybe omnipotent but certainly not omniscient for if he was there wouldn't be so many examples in the fossil records of failed species. Surely an omniscient God wouldn't need to experiment would he? At any rate, no amount of debate is going to change you from disbelieving in Jesus' deity, nor will any argument make me believe he was any more than one of the greatest men in human history, not a god. I don't necessarily begrudge anyone their opinion on religion, it is a deeply personal thing.

May the Force be with you.
